Storia

Il comune di Suraua stato istituito il 1º gennaio 2002 con la fusione dei comuni soppressi di mwgqCamuns, mwggSurcasti, mwgwTersnaus e mwhaUors-Peiden (a sua volta istituito nel 1963 con la fusione dei comuni soppressi di mwhqPeiden e mwhgUors). È stato soppresso il 31 dicembre 2012: il 1º gennaio 2013 è stato aggregato agli altri comuni soppressi di mwhwCumbel, mwiaDegen, mwiqLumbrein, mwigMorissen, mwiwVella, mwjaVignogn e mwjqVrin per formare il nuovo comune di mwjgLumnezia, dal 2016 nella mwjwregione Surselva.
